Yes, it's true.
I found my inspiration to become a chef from a movie about a cartoon rat. Correction: a cartoon rat gourmand.
I've always loved food--fascinated by how flavours come together and leave a memory of taste and feeling on my lips.
But it wasn't until I had gone from actress to MTV VJ to Mom that I realized that my next career milestone had to involve food.
I went to culinary school, went back to the US to apprentice at world-class kitchens, did everything from scrubbing floors to being in front of the stove for 12 hours.
Remy--inspirational to both Ratatouille and me--was right about your only limit being your soul. I didn't let my late start in the culinary world stop me.
This is where you find me today: still in front of the camera, but this time with a stovetop and a dash of fearlessness. I hope you'll join me on this next part of my journey.
